The city of Porto Alegre plays host to one of the leading clubs in the Campeonato Brasileiro Srie A - Gremio - who have been long standing members of the country's footballing heritage since their foundation in 1905.

Their distinctive blue, black and white uniform is one of the most recognisable in the South American game and gives rise to their nickname of Imortal Tricolor.

Most famously worn by Ronaldinho, the Gremio uniform has been worn to two Serie A victories, in 1981 and 1996.
